Privacy policy

Who we are

Minutiq is a study app for NEET and JEE, run by Minutiq ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Minutiq app and this website. If you have a question about your data, write to support@minutiq.in.

What the app keeps on your phone

To work, the app stores these on your phone:

• Your study progress: the lessons you have learned, your test answers and how sure you said you were, the mistakes you tagged, your XP, streak and freezes.
• Your choices: your exam and class, daily goal, study plan, theme, text size and session length.
• The weekly report details, if you fill them in: your name, the name of the person it's for, and their WhatsApp number.

These stay on your phone. We do not receive them. You don't need an account to use Minutiq.

What leaves your phone, and when

• Sending the weekly report. When you tap Send, the app opens WhatsApp with the report written out. You choose whether to send it. WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to the message.
• Opening NCERT. When you open a chapter's NCERT book, your browser loads it from NCERT's website.
• Listening to a card. Read-aloud uses your phone's own text-to-speech voice, on the phone.
• Buying a plan. Payments are processed by our payment partner, which collects your payment details to take the payment. We receive the payment's status and reference, the amount and the plan, so we can unlock it and keep records the law requires. We never see or store card numbers, UPI PINs or bank passwords.
• Writing to us. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and use them only to reply and help.

If we add a feature that sends anything else from your phone, we will update this policy first and tell you in the app.

What we don't do

• We don't show ads, and the app has no advertising or analytics trackers.
• We don't sell, rent or trade personal data.
• We don't use your data to build profiles for anyone else.

This website

This website does not use cookies or analytics. Like any website, the company that hosts it may keep standard server logs, such as your IP address and browser, for a short time to keep the site secure.

Students under 18

Many Minutiq students are under 18. If you are, please use Minutiq with a parent's or guardian's knowledge, and have them make or approve any payment. Because your study data stays on your phone, we hold no profile of you. A parent or guardian can write to us at any time about a child's data.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your study data by uninstalling the app, or by clearing its storage in your phone's settings. Because it lives on your phone, this removes it completely.
• Ask about data we hold, such as payment records or emails, and ask us to correct or delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can also raise a grievance with us at the address below.

How long we keep things

Payment records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires. Support emails are kept while we help you, and deleted when no longer needed.

Security

We use the payment partner's secure checkout, and keep the little data we hold to people who need it to help you. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold small on purpose.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top, and for important changes we will tell you in the app. See also our Terms and conditions.
